The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Cpl. Jeremy M. Loveless, 25, of Estacada, Ore., died in Mosul, Iraq on May 29, when his Stryker came under enemy small arms fire during combat operations. Loveless was assigned to the Army's 2^nd Battalion, 1^st Infantry Regiment, 172^nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, Fort Wainwright, Alaska.
