General Officer Annoucement
Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the President has nominated Army Maj. Gen. Douglas E. Lute for the appointment to the grade of lieutenant general and assignment as director for operations, J-3, the Joint Staff, Washington, D.C. Lute is currently serving as serving as director of operations, J-3, U. S. Central Command, MacDill Air Force Base, Fla. |
