DoD Identifies Army Casualty
The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Spc. Jeffrey P. Shaffer, 21, of Harrison, Ark., died of injuries suffered in Ar Ramadi, Iraq, on Sept.13 when an improvised explosive device detonated near his M2A2 Bradley Fighting Vehicle during combat operations. Shaffer was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 6th Infantry Regiment, 1st Armored Division, Bamberg, Germany.
