Wing to observe Hispanic-American Heritage Month

Sept. 12, 2003 — The 11th Wing will observe Hispanic-American Heritage Month from Sept. 15 through Oct. 15.

Wing members are invited and encouraged to attend the 11th Wing's Hispanic-American Heritage Luncheon at the Bolling Officers Club Oct. 9, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. This event will highlight the distinguished accomplishments of Hispanic-Americans throughout the world. The luncheon's special guest speaker will be Alberto Gonzales who serves the president as White House counsel. Full Story

Air Force Civilians Among Top 50 Hispanics

WASHINGTON, May 8, 2003 — Hispanic Engineer and Information Technology magazine has included two Air Force civilians among this year’s Top 50 Hispanics in Business and Technology.

Michael L. Dominguez and Michael Montelongo were selected from among hundreds of workers in government, academia and corporate America for their leadership responsibilities, impact on science or technology, contributions to education and community involvement.

Dominguez is the assistant secretary of the Air Force for manpower and reserve affairs, and Montelongo is the assistant secretary of the Air Force for financial management and comptroller.

Dominguez said he is deeply moved by the honor, and gave much of the credit for it to the Air Force. Full Story
