The Masters of Swing Jazz Band
United States Coast Guard
Formed in the summer of 1989, The Masters of Swing spotlight Swing Era music, performing compositions by such jazz greats as Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller and George Gershwin. Skillfully arranged by members of the group, the musical selections demand sparkling ensemble playing and highlight the performer's improvisational expertise. In Duke Ellington’s words: “It don’t mean a thing if it ain’t got that swing!”
