Capital T Drop Cap he Theater High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) system is a critical element of our MD "family of systems." The upper-tier THAAD addresses critical warfighter requirements to intercept longer-range theater-class ballistic missiles at high altitudes and further downrange from the intended target. This will give us more time for multiple shot opportunities to intercept theater ballistic missile threats, especially those carrying weapons of mass destruction, and destroy them at longer ranges and higher altitudes.
