United States Posture Statement FY01
Executive Summary
For over 224 years, The Army — active component (AC), Army National Guard (ARNG), U.S. Army Reserve (USAR), and Army civilians — has provided landpower capabilities to promote and protect our Nation's interests. Today, the National Security Strategy (NSS) and National Military Strategy (NMS) require forces that are responsive and dominant across the full spectrum of operations.
Summary
Investing In People
The commitment of our people has been and will always be the heart and soul of our Army's readiness. Our future readiness to cope with full-spectrum challenges is inextricably linked to the well being of our people — soldiers, civilians, veterans, and their families — all of whom selflessly serve our Nation.
Full Statement
Funding Infrastructure
The Army has excess infrastructure that is inadequate for mission requirements. It also has significant requirements for modern infrastructure to support readiness, enable force projection, and enhance well being, recruiting, and retention.
