Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld and Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz have no public or media events on their schedules.

Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs Lawrence Di Rita and Deputy Director for Regional Operations, Joint Staff Operations Directorate, Brig. Gen. David Rodriguez will hold a press briefing at 3:00 p.m. EST in the DoD Briefing Room, Pentagon 2E579. Media without a Pentagon building pass interested in covering this event must haveproof of press affiliation and two forms of photo identification and should be at the North Parking Entrance by2:45 p.m. Please call (703) 697-5131 for escort into the building.

Army Maj. Gen. John R.S. Batiste, commander of the Multinational Division--North Central, and commanding general, 1st Infantry Division, will brief live from Iraq at 8 a.m. EST, Jan. 13, in the DoD Briefing Studio, Pentagon 2E579, to provide an update on ongoing security operations in North Central Iraq. Journalists without a Pentagon building pass will be picked up at the North Parking Entrance only.
