Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel delivers remarks at the 29th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Observance at 9 a.m. EST in the Pentagon Auditorium (BH-650).  Journalists without a Pentagon building pass will be picked up at the Pentagon River Parking Pedestrian Bridge only.  Plan to arrive no later than 45 minutes prior to the event; have proof of affiliation and two forms of photo identification.  Please call 703-697-5131 for escort to the auditorium.

 

Acting Deputy Secretary of Defense Christine H. Fox and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Martin E. Dempsey have no public or media events on their schedules.

 

Deputy Chief of Naval Operations (Operations, Plan and Strategy) and Strategic Plans and Policy Director Vice Adm. Frank Pandolfe delivers remarks at the Surface Navy Association Conference on the "Pacific Panel" at 2:15 p.m. EST, Hyatt Regency Hotel, Crystal City, Va.

 

Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics Frank Kendall will deliver remarks on "Investing in Innovation:  R&D and the Future of the Defense-Industrial Base" at 6:30 p.m. EST, in the Crystal Room, Willard Intercontinental Hotel, 1401 Pennsylvania Ave., NW, Washington, D.C.
