Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen is being honored at an armed forces review and award ceremony today at 10 a.m. at Fort Myer, Va. See the press advisory for details.

Deputy Secretary of Defense Rudy de Leon signs a US/UK memorandum of understanding on the next phase of the Joint Strike Fighter at 7:45 a.m. this morning in the Pentagon. See the press advisory for details.

This afternoon at 3 p.m., Deputy Secretary de Leon speaks at the opening of Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation at Fort Benning, Ga. See the press advisory for details.

The next regular DoD news briefing will be Thursday, Jan. 18, at 1:30 p.m., in the DoD briefing studio, Pentagon room 2E781. The briefer will be Kenneth H. Bacon, assistant secretary of Defense for Public Affairs. This will be Bacon's last regularly scheduled brief.
