Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates hosts an honor cordon to welcome Turkish Minister of National Defense Vecdi Gonul to the Pentagon today at 12:30 p.m. EST. The cordon will be held on the steps of the Pentagon Mall Entrance. Media must be at the Pentagon North Parking Entrance no later than noon EST for escort to the cordon.

Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates will conduct an on-the-record media roundtable today with reporters at 2 p.m. EST in the Pentagon. Reporters who wish to attend must gather no later than 1:45 p.m. at the DoD Briefing Room, Pentagon 2E579 for movement to the roundtable location. The event will be pooled for cameras (still and video). For questions concerning audio/visual matters contact Terry Mitchell at (703) 695-0169. Journalists without a Pentagon building pass will be picked up at the North Parking Entrance only. Plan to arrive no later than 1:15 p.m.; have proof of affiliation and two forms of photo identification. Please call (703) 697-5131 for escort into the building.

Army Col. Michael S. Galloucis, commander of 89th Military Police Brigade, will brief live from Iraq at 9 a.m. EST, Jan. 26, in the DoD Briefing Studio, Pentagon 2E579, to provide an update on ongoing security operations in Iraq.  Journalists without a Pentagon building pass will be picked up at the North Parking Entrance only.   Plan to arrive no later than 45 minutes prior to the event; have proof of affiliation and two forms of photo identification.   Please call (703) 697-5131 for escort into the building.
