Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld hosts an honor cordon to welcome Italian Minister of Defense Antonio Martino to the Pentagon at 10:15 a.m. EST. The cordon will be held on the steps of the Pentagon River Entrance. Media must be at the Pentagon North Parking Entrance no later than 9:45 a.m. for escort to the cordon.

Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz has no public or media events onhis schedule.

Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister Barham Saleh conducts a two-way press briefing at 10 a.m. EST in the DoD Briefing Room, 2E579 from Iraq. Media without a Pentagon building pass interested in covering this event must have proof of press affiliation and two forms of photo identification and should be at the North Parking Entrance by 9:15 a.m. Please call (703) 697-5131 for escort into the building.

Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Research, Development, and Acquisition John Youngwill hold a press conference on a major Navy acquisition program at 5 p.m. EST in the DoD Briefing Room, Pentagon 2E579. Media representatives without a Pentagon building pass who are interested in attending this event must have proof of affiliation, two forms of photo identification and be at the Pentagon North Parking Entrance by 4:15 p.m.
