Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen will receive an award from the National Collegiate Athletic Association on Sunday, Jan. 7, in Orlando, Fla. See the press advisory for details.

Deputy Secretary of Defense Rudy de Leon is in Washington this weekend. There are no media or public events on his schedule.

The next regular DoD news briefing is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 9, at 1:30 p.m., in the DoD briefing studio, Pentagon room 2E781. The briefer will be Kenneth H. Bacon, assistant secretary of Defense for Public Affairs.

The department's Legislative Affairs Office maintains a separate Congressional Schedule of Events.
