Secretary of Defense Leon E. Panetta delivers remarks at 8 a.m. EDT at the Association of the United States Army 2011 Annual Meeting and Exposition at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, Washington, D.C.

Secretary of Defense Leon E. Panetta hosts an honor cordon to welcome the President of the Republic of Korea Lee Myung-bak to the Pentagon today at 3 p.m. EDT. The cordon will be held on the steps of the Pentagon River Entrance. Journalists without a Pentagon building pass will be picked up at the Pentagon River Parking Entrance only. Plan to arrive no later than 30 minutes prior to the event; have proof of affiliation and two forms of photo identification. Please call 703-697-5131 for escort to the cordon.

Deputy Secretary of Defense Ashton B. Carter has no public or media events on his schedule.

Maj. Gen. Jeffrey Buchanan, director of strategic communication (J9) and official spokesman for U.S. Forces-Iraq, will brief the media at 11 a.m. EDT in the Pentagon Briefing Room (2E973) to provide an update on the reposturing efforts and transition activities of U.S. Forces in Iraq. Journalists without a Pentagon building pass will be picked up at the River Entrance only. Plan to arrive no later than 45 minutes prior to the event; have proof of affiliation and two forms of photo identification. Please call 703-697-5131 for escort into the building.

The Department of Defense will host a ceremony marking the conclusion of the 2011 Feds Feed Families Food Drive at 1:30 p.m. EDT in the Pentagon Auditorium.
