Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates hosts an honor cordon to welcome Israeli Minister of Defense Ehud Barak  to the Pentagon today at 1:30 p.m. EDT.  The cordon will be held on the steps of the Pentagon Mall Entrance.  Media must be at the Pentagon North Parking Entrance no later than 1 p.m. EDT for escort to the cordon.
Deputy Secretary of Defense Gordon England has no public or media events on his schedule.
Principal Undersecretary of Defense ,Comptroller J. David Patterson and Deputy Undersecretary of Defense for Business Transformation Paul Brinkley testify at a hearing of the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs on improving financial and business management at the Department of Defense at 3:15 p.m. EDT in room 342 Dirksen Senate Office Building,
 Director of Operations, Joint Chiefs of Staff, Lt. Gen. Carter Ham will conduct a press briefing to provide an operational update at 1 p.m. EDT,  in the DoD Briefing Room, Pentagon 2E579.  Journalists without a Pentagon building pass will be picked up at the North Parking Entrance only.  Plan to arrive no later than 45 minutes prior to the event; have proof of affiliation and two forms of photo identification.  Please call (703) 697-5131 for escort into the building.
