Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld and Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz are in Washington. There are no public or media events on their schedules.

Lawrence Di Rita, acting assistant secretary of defense Public Affairs, and Lt. Gen. Norton Schwartz, director for operations, J-3, Joint Staff, will conduct a briefing at 1:30 p.m. EDT in the DoD Briefing Room, Pentagon 2E781 to discuss recent OIF operations. Media representatives who do not have a Pentagon building pass and wish to cover this event should arrive at the Pentagon's North Parking Entrance at 1 p.m. for an escort. Media without a Pentagon building pass must have proof of affiliation and two forms of photo identification.

Deputy Secretary Wolfowitz Travels to Iraq

Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul D Wolfowitz departed today on a four-day trip to Iraq.  Mr. Wolfowitz schedule includes meetings with Iraqi officials, as well as with U.S. and international troops and commanders.
