Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld hosts an honor cordon to welcome Pakistan Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali to the Pentagon today at 4:30 p.m. EDT. The cordon will be held on the steps of the Pentagon River Entrance. Media must be at the Pentagon North Parking Entrance no later than 4 p.m. EDT for escort to the cordon.

Department of Defense will conduct a background briefing by a senior DoD official on the upcoming NATO Informal Ministerial in the Pentagon Briefing Room (2E781) Friday, October 3rd at 3 p.m. EDT. Media representatives who do not have a Pentagon building pass and wish to cover this event should arrive at the Pentagon's North Parking Entrance at 2:30 p.m. EDT for an escort. Media without a Pentagon building pass must have proof of affiliation and two forms of photo identification.

Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz is in Washington. There are no public or media events on his schedule.
