Today in the Department of Defense, Nov. 10-13, 2000

Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen will speak Saturday, Nov. 11 at 1:15 p.m. at the WWII Memorial Groundbreaking Ceremony in Washington, D.C. See the advisory for details.

Deputy Secretary of Defense Rudy de Leon is in Washington through the weekend.

Many events associated with Veterans Day are scheduled between now and Saturday, Nov. 11. See the advisory for details.

On Monday, Nov. 13 at 3:00 p.m. in the DoD briefing room there will be a background briefing on Secretary Cohen's forthcoming trip to the Middle East.

The next regular Department of Defense news briefing will be held Tuesday, Nov. 14 at 1:30 p.m. in the Pentagon briefing studio, room 2E781. The briefer will be Kenneth H. Bacon, assistant secretary of Defense for public affairs.

The Combined Federal Campaign is now in progress throughout the Department of Defense.

The department's Legislative Affairs Office maintains a separate Congressional Schedule of Events.
