Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates participates in the promotion ceremony for Lieutenant General Craig R. McKinley at 3:00 p.m. EST in the Pentagon Auditorium, room BH650. Media interested in attending should contact OSD Public Affairs (703) 697-5131 for escort.

Secretary of the Army Pete Geren will award medals to recent combat veterans during a Purple Heart Medal Ceremony at 3:30 p.m. EST. Media interested in attending the event should call 202-782-0752 or 202-782-9351 or by emailing Walter Reed Army Medical Center Public Affairs@amedd.army.mil .

Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff, Adm. Lynda Davis, deputy under secretary of defense for military community family policy, will be the keynote speaker for the launch of the National Resource Directory at Naval Medical Center San Diego (NMCSD), on Monday, Nov. 17, 2008, at 1 p.m PST.  The event will be hosted by Rear Adm.
