Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates is traveling.

Deputy Secretary of Defense William J. Lynn has no public or media events on his schedule.

The Navy will commission its newest Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer, Gravely, during an 11 a.m. EST ceremony in Wilmington, N.C.  Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Gary Roughead will deliver the ceremony’s principal address.  The commissioning ceremony will be broadcast live on The Pentagon Channel and streamed on the Web at http://www.pentagonchannel.mil.
