Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates has no public or media events on his schedule.

Deputy Secretary of Defense Gordon England speaks at the change of responsibility ceremony for Lt. Gen. Henry Obering and Lt. Gen. Patrick J. O'Reilly  at 11 a.m. EST at the Air Force Memorial, Columbia Pike, Arlington, Va.

Army Col. John P. Johnson, commander of 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, will brief live from Afghanistan at 11 a.m. EST, Nov. 21, in the DoD Briefing Room, Pentagon 2E973, to provide an operational update. Journalists without a Pentagon building pass will be picked up at the River Entrance only. Plan to arrive no later than 45 minutes prior to the event; have proof of affiliation and two forms of photo identification. Please call (703) 697-5131 for escort into the building.
