Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen will address the Joint Armed Forces Officers' Wives Luncheon today at 1 p.m. at Bolling Air Force Base in Washington. See the advisory for details.

Deputy Secretary of Defense Rudy de Leon is in Washington. There are no public or media events on his schedule.

The Marine Corps will hold a worship service to celebrate the 225th birthday of the Marine Corps at the Washington National Cathedral on Sunday, Nov. 5. See the release for details. [Link no longer available.]

The next Department of Defense news briefing will be on Tuesday, Nov. 7, at 1:30 p.m. in the Pentagon briefing studio, room 2E781. The briefer will be Mr. Kenneth H. Bacon, assistant secretary of Defense for public affairs.

The Combined Federal Campaign is now in progress throughout the Department of Defense.

The department's Legislative Affairs Office maintains a separate Congressional Schedule of Events.
