Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld is in Washington. There are no public or media events on his schedule.

Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz deliver remarks at the Mercatus Center Conference at 12:15 p.m. EST in the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center, Pavilion Room, 1300 Pennsylvania Ave, Washington DC.

The Department of Defense will host a media availability with representatives Ed Royce, Thomas Lantos, Peter King, Steve Chabot, Max Burns who recently returned from Iraq at 9:15 a.m. in the DoD Briefing Room, Pentagon 2E781. The event will be hosted by Assistant Secretary of Defense for Legislative Affairs Powell Moore. Media representatives who do not have a Pentagon building pass and wish to cover this event should arrive at the Pentagon's North Parking Entrance at 8:40 a.m. for an escort. Media without a Pentagon building pass must have proof of affiliation and two forms of photo identification
