Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Richard B. Myers, will conduct a press conference today in the DoD Briefing Room, Pentagon 2E781 at noon EST. Media representatives who do not have a Pentagon building pass and wish to cover this event should arrive at the Pentagon's North Parking Entrance at 11:30 a.m. for an escort. Media without a Pentagon building pass must have proof of affiliation and two forms of photo identification.

Immediately following that press conference Air Force Lt. Gen. Norton Schwartz, director for operations, J-3, Joint Staff; Army Lt. Gen. Richard Cody, deputy chief of staff, G3, and Marine Corps Lt. Gen. Jan C. Huly, deputy commandant for plans, policy and operations, will conduct a briefing on the force rotation plan for Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom.

Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz hosts an honor cordon to welcome Pakistan's Minister of Education Subaida Jala Khan to the Pentagon at 11:30 a.m. EST. The cordon will be held on the steps of the Pentagon River Entrance. Media must be at the Pentagon North Parking Entrance no later than 11 a.m. EST for escort to the cordon.

Wolfowitz also hosts an honor cordon to welcome Congo's President Joseph Kabila to the Pentagon at 4:45 p.m. EST. The cordon will be held on the steps of the Pentagon River Entrance. Media must be at the Pentagon North Parking Entrance no later than 4:15 p.m. EST for escort to the cordon.

The Department of Defense will host a media availability with representatives Mac Thornberry, Vic Snyder, Baron Hill, Robert Simmons, Gresham Barrett, Tom Cole, Steve King, Mike Rogers, Madeleine Bordallo who recently returned from Iraq at 9:30 a.m. in the DoD Briefing Room, Pentagon 2E781. The event will be hosted by Assistant Secretary of Defense for Legislative Affairs Powell Moore. Media representatives who do not have a Pentagon building pass and wish to cover this event should arrive at the Pentagon's North Parking Entrance at 9 a.m. for an escort. Media without a Pentagon building pass must have proof of affiliation and two forms of photo identification.
