Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen and Deputy Secretary of Defense Rudy de Leon are in Washington today. There are no public or media events on their schedules.

The regular Department of Defense news briefing will be conducted today at 1:30 p.m. in the Pentagon briefing studio, room 2E781. The briefer will be Kenneth H. Bacon, assistant secretary of Defense for public affairs.

Many events associated with Veterans Day are scheduled between now and Saturday, Nov. 11. See the advisory for details.

The Combined Federal Campaign is now in progress throughout the Department of Defense.

The department's Legislative Affairs Office maintains a separate Congressional Schedule of Events.
