Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates has no public or media events on his schedule.

Deputy Secretary of Defense Gordon England hosts an honor cordon to welcome Macedonian Minister of Defense Zoran Konjanovski to the Pentagon today at 1 p.m. EST.  The cordon will be held on the steps of the Pentagon River Entrance. Journalists without a Pentagon building pass will be picked up at the River Terrace Parking Entrance only.  Plan to arrive no later than 30 minutes prior to the event; have proof of affiliation and two forms of photo identification. Please call (703) 697-5131 for escort to the cordon.

 Army Maj. Gen. Rick Nash, 34th Infantry Division commander, will brief live from St. Paul, Minn., at 2 p.m. EST, Dec. 11, in the DoD Briefing Studio, Pentagon 2E973, to provide an update on the 34th Inf. Div. Headquarters’ preparations for their upcoming deployment to Iraq.
