Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates has no public or media event on his schedule.

Deputy Secretary of Defense Gordon England hosts an honor cordon to welcome Minister of Defense of Bosnia Herzegovina Selmo Cikotic, Minister of Defense of Montenegro Boro Vicinic and Assistant Minister of Defense for Policy of Serbia Dragan Spasojevic to the Pentagon today at 11 a.m. EST for the annual Bilateral Defense Consultations of the Partnership for Peace.  The cordon will be held on the steps of the Pentagon River Entrance.  Journalists without a Pentagon building pass will be picked up at the North Parking Entrance only. Plan to arrive no later than 45 minutes prior to the event; have proof of affiliation and two forms of photo identification. Please call (703) 697-5131 for escort to the cordon.

Army Maj. Gen. Joseph F. Fil Jr., commanding general of Multi-National Division Baghdad and First Cavalry Division, will brief live from Iraq at 9:30 a.m. EST, in the DoD Briefing Studio, Pentagon 2E579, to provide an update on ongoing security operations in Iraq.  Journalists without a Pentagon building pass will be picked up at the North Parking Entrance only.  Plan to arrive no later than 45 minutes prior to the event; have proof of affiliation and two forms of photo identification.   Please call (703) 697-5131 for escort into the building.
