Today in the Department of Defense, Dec. 2-4, 2000

Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen and Deputy Secretary of Defense Rudy de Leon are in Washington this weekend. There are no public or media events on their schedules.

The 101st Army-Navy football will be played Saturday at 12 noon in Baltimore, Md. See the Army or Navy web sites for information.

The next DoD news briefing will be Tuesday, Dec. 5, at 1:30 p.m. in the DoD briefing studio, room 2E781. The briefer will be Kenneth H. Bacon, assistant secretary of Defense for Public Affairs.

Army Gen. Henry H. Shelton, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, is traveling in Europe through Dec. 6. See the advisory for details.

The Combined Federal Campaign is now in progress throughout the Department of Defense.

The department's Legislative Affairs Office maintains a separate Congressional Schedule of Events.
