Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates is traveling.

Deputy Secretary of Defense Gordon England has no public or media events on his schedule.

Assistant Secretary of Defense for Homeland Defense and Americas' Security Affairs Paul McHale will brief foreign media at 1:30 p.m. EST on the state of U.S. homeland defense efforts. He will address DoD's increased preparedness since September 11, and specifically CBRNE Consequence Management Response Forces (CCMRFs).
