Secretary of Defense Leon E. Panetta will lay a wreath at the Navy Memorial tomorrow morning at a small ceremony.  The secretary is not scheduled to make remarks.

Deputy Secretary of Defense Ashton B. Carter has no public or media events on his schedule.

Deputy Commanding General, U.S. Forces-Iraq, Lt. Gen. Frank G. Helmick will brief the media at 10 a.m. EST in the Pentagon Briefing Room (2E973) via satellite to provide an update on the redeployment operations of U.S. Forces in Iraq and the capability of the Iraqi Security Forces in preparation of the transfer of mission to the Department of State.  Journalists without a Pentagon building pass will be picked up at the River Entrance only.  Plan to arrive no later than 45 minutes prior to the event; have proof of affiliation and two forms of photo identification.  Please call 703-697-5131 for escort into the building.
