Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen is in New York today. There are no public or media events on his schedule

Deputy Secretary of Defense Rudy de Leon is in Washington. There are no public or media events on his schedule.

The next regular DoD news briefing will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 12, at 1:30 p.m. in the Pentagon briefing studio, room 2E781. The briefer will be Kenneth H. Bacon , assistant secretary of Defense for Public Affairs.

Korean War veterans and present day servicemembers and dignitaries will mark the 50th anniversary of the Chosin Reservoir campaign with events on Dec. 12 in Washington, D.C. See the news release for details.

The Combined Federal Campaign is now in progress throughout the Department of Defense.

The department's Legislative Affairs Office maintains a separate Congressional Schedule of Events.
