            Secretary of Defense Robert Gates will delivery remarks at the U.S.  Army TRADOC Change of Command between outgoing CDR Gen. William S. Wallace and LTG (P) Martin E. Dempsey at 2:00 p.m. EST.  Media interested in attending should contact Col. Mike Negard at (757) 788-3385.
 
            Deputy Secretary of Defense Gordon England has no public or media event on his schedule.
 
            Army Maj. Gen. Mark P. Hertling, commander of Multinational Division-North and the 1st Armored Division, will brief live from Iraq at 10 a.m. EST, Dec. 8, in the DoD Briefing Studio, Pentagon 2E973, to provide an update on ongoing security operations in Iraq.
 
            Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral Michael Mullen will be honored on Monday, December 8, with the “Henry M. Jackson Distinguished Service Award” by the Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs at 7 p.m. EDT at theMarriott Crystal Gateway, 1700 Jefferson Davis Highway, Arlington, Va. Media interested in attending should contact Jim Colbert at (202) 667-3900 or jcolbert@jinsa.org.
 
            Journalists without a Pentagon building pass will be picked up at the River Entrance only. Plan to arrive no later than 45 minutes prior to the event; have proof of affiliation and two forms of photo identification. Please call (703) 697-5131 for escort into the building.
