Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates hosts an honor cordon to welcome Colombian Minister of National Defense Juan Manuel Santos to the Pentagon today at 8:15 a.m. EST. The cordon will be held on the steps of the Pentagon Mall Entrance. Media must be at the Pentagon North Parking Entrance no later than 7:45 a.m. EST for escort to the cordon.

Deputy Secretary of Defense Gordon England has no public or media events on his schedule.

Gen. George Casey testifies at confirmation hearing at 9:30 a.m. EST before the Senate Armed Services Committee in room SR-325, Caucus Room, Russell Senate Office Building.

Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Asia and Pacific Security Affairs Richard Lawless testifies at a hearing of the U.S. -  China Economic and Security Review Commission at 10 a.m. EST in room  562 Dirksen Senate Office Building.
