Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld is in Washington. There are no public or media events on his schedule.

Deputy Secretary of Defense Rudy de Leon hosts a visit to the Pentagon today at 10:30 a.m. by Senior Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Seishiro Eto of Japan. See the press advisory for details.

The Defense Information Systems Agency will host an event today at 10 a.m. with representatives of the three small businesses that will share a contract potentially worth more than $2 billion. The Air Force Association's annual Air Warfare Symposium ends today in Orlando, Fla. See the symposium Web site for information. [link no longer available]

The next regular DoD news briefing will be held Tuesday, Feb. 20 at 1:30 p.m. in the DoD briefing studio, Pentagon room 2E781. The briefer will be Rear Adm. Craig R. Quigley, deputy assistant secretary of Defense for public affairs.
