Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld addresses the National Press Club's Newsmaker Luncheon in Washington, D.C., at 1 p.m.

Deputy Secretary of Defense Gordon England has no public or media events on his schedule.

Army Chief of Staff Gen. Peter Schoomaker; Army National Guard Director Lt. Gen. Clyde Vaughn; and Chief of the U.S. Army Reserve Lt. Gen. James Helmly will discuss Army force structure during a DoD news briefing at 9:30 a.m. EST Feb. 2 in the DoD Briefing Room, Pentagon 2E579.
