Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld will host an honor cordon today to welcome Swedish Minister of Defense Bjorn Von Sydow to the Pentagon. See the press advisory for details.

Deputy Secretary of Defense Rudy de Leon is in Washington today. There are no public or media events on his schedule.

There will not be a regular DoD news briefing today. The next regular DoD news briefing will be held Thursday, March 1 at 1:30 p.m. in the DoD briefing studio, Pentagon room 2E781. The briefer will be Rear Adm. Craig R. Quigley, deputy assistant secretary of Defense for public affairs.

The department's Legislative Affairs Office maintains a separate Congressional Schedule of Events.
