Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates hosts an honor cordon to welcome Iraqi Vice President Adil Abdal-Mahdi to the Pentagon today at 9:15 a.m. EST. The cordon will be held on the steps of the Pentagon Mall Entrance. Media must be at the Pentagon North Parking Entrance no later than 8:45 a.m. DST for escort to the cordon.

Deputy Secretary of Defense Gordon England has no public or media events on his schedule.

Under Secretary of Defense Comptroller Tinas Jonas, Principal Deputy Under Secretary Policy Ryan Henry and Deputy Under Secretary of Defense Installations and Environment Philip Grone testify at a hearing of the House Appropriations Committee at 10:30 a.m. EST in RoomH-143 Capitol Hill.

Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics Ken Krieg will hold a news conference at 3:30 p.m. EST, March 14, in the DoD Briefing Studio, Pentagon 2E579, to provide an update on acquisition reform and the Section 804 Report to Congress.  Journalists without a Pentagon building pass will be picked up at the North Parking Entrance only.   Plan to arrive no later than 45 minutes prior to the event; have proof of affiliation and two forms of photo identification.   Please call (703) 697-5131 for escort into the building.
