Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld and Deputy Secretary of Defense Gordon England have no public or media events on their schedules.

Commander U.S. Central Command Gen. John Abizaid and Commander, U. S. Special Operations Command Gen. Bryan Brown testify at a hearing of the Senate Armed Services Commmittee at 8:30 a.m. EST in room SH-216, Hart Senate Office Building.

Commander U.S. Southern Command Gen. Bantz Craddock testifies at a hearing of the House Armed Services Committee at 9 a.m. in room 2118 Rayburn House Office Building.

Under Secretary of the Air Force Ronald Sega, Acting Commander, Air Force Space Command Lt. Gen. Frank Klotz testify at a hearing of the House Armed Services Committee at 1 p.m. in room 2212 Rayburn House Office Building.

Army Maj. Gen. Benjamin Freakley, commander of Combined Joint Task Force 76, and commanding general, 10th Mountain Division, will brief live from Afghanistan at 10 a.m. in the DoD Briefing Studio, Pentagon 2E579, to provide an update on ongoing security operations. Journalists without a Pentagon building pass will be picked up at the North Parking Entrance only. Plan to arrive no later than 45 minutes prior to the event; have proof of affiliation and two forms of photo identification. Please call (703) 697-5131 for escort into the building.
