Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld is out of town and Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz is in Washington this weekend. There are no public or media events on their schedules.

The Army Band will give its 79th anniversary concert on Saturday at 8 p.m. in Washington, D.C. See the Army band web page for details.

Gen. Henry H. Shelton, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, will receive an award in Chicago on Sunday from the American College of Healthcare Executives. On Monday, he will speak at a luncheon meeting of the Mid-America Committee, also in Chicago. See the press advisory for more details.

Deputy Secretary Wolfowitz will address the American-Turkish Council on Monday at 10:15 a.m. in Washington, D.C. See the press advisory for details.

USS Blue Ridge, flagship of the U.S. Seventh Fleet, is visiting Shanghai, People's Republic of China, through Monday. See the Seventh Fleet news release for details.

The Marine Corps is co-sponsoring a conference on "Expeditionary Solutions for a Gordian World" on Monday and Tuesday in Cambridge, Mass. Other co-sponsors are the Institute for Foreign Policy Analysis and the International Security Studies Program of the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. The next regular DoD news briefing is scheduled for Tuesday, March 27, at 1:30 p.m. in the DoD briefing studio, Pentagon room 2E781. The briefer will be Rear Adm. Craig R. Quigley, deputy assistant secretary of Defense for public affairs.
