Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld and Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz are in Washington today. There are no public or media events on their schedules.

The National High Performance Computing and Communications Council holds its 15th annual conference today and tomorrow in Newport, R.I. The conference theme is "E-Government: Managing Change in the Information Technology World." See the conference Web page for details.

The next regular DoD news briefing is scheduled for tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. in the DoD briefing studio, Pentagon room 2E781. The briefer will be Rear Adm. Craig R. Quigley, deputy assistant secretary of Defense for public affairs.
