Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld hosts an honor cordon to welcome Greek Minister of National Defense Yannos Papantoniou to the Pentagon at 11 a.m. EST. The cordon will be held on the steps of the Pentagon River Entrance. Media must be at the River Entrance no later than 10:30 a.m. for the cordon.

Rumsfeld and Air Force Gen. Richard B. Myers, chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff, conduct a DoD news briefing at 2:00 p.m.in the DoD Briefing Room, Pentagon 2E781. Media without a Pentagon building pass interested in covering this event must have proof of press affiliation and two forms of photo identification and should be at the North Parking Entrance by 1:30 p.m. Please call (703) 697-5131 for escort into the building.

Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz hosts an honor cordon to welcome Australian Minister of Foreign Affairs Alexander Downer to the Pentagon at 10:30 a.m. The cordon will be held on the steps of the Pentagon River Entrance. Media must be at the River Entrance no later than 10 a.m. for the cordon.

MISSING SOLDIER RESCUED The Department of Defense announced today that Pfc. Jessica D. Lynch, 19, of Palestine, W.Va., was recovered and returned to U.S. control as the result of a successful rescue mission.
