Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld and Air Force Gen. Richard B. Myers, chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff, conduct a DoD news briefing at 2:00 p.m. EDT in the DoD Briefing Room, Pentagon 2E781. Media without a Pentagon building pass interested in covering this event must have proof of press affiliation and two forms of photo identification and should be at the North Parking Entrance by 1:30 p.m. Please call (703) 697-5131 for escort into the building.

Rumsfeld hosts an honor cordon to welcome Singapore Minister of Defense Tony Tan to the Pentagon at 1 p.m. The cordon will be held on the steps of the Pentagon River Entrance. Media must be at the River Entrance no later than 12:30 p.m. for the cordon.

Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz is in Washington. There are no public or media events on his schedule.

Navy Capt. Charles Blankenship, commanding officer of the USNS Comfort, and medical staff members conduct a briefing via satellite-teleconference on medical care being provided to enemy prisoners of war at 9 a.m. in the DoD Briefing Studio, Pentagon, Room 2E781.
