Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld and Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz are in Washington today. There are no public or media events on their schedules.

The next regular DoD news briefing is scheduled for today at 1:30 p.m. in the DoD briefing studio, Pentagon room 2E781. The briefer will be Rear Adm. Craig R. Quigley, deputy assistant secretary of Defense for public affairs.

Army Col. Greg Kaufmann, director of the Balkans Task Force in the Office of the Secretary of Defense, is among the participants at an event today on "Preventing War in Macedonia: The Legacy of Preventive Deployment and Current Challenges to US Engagement" at the Woodrow Wilson Center in Washington, D.C. Today is the last day of the Defense Supply Service-Washington small business conference in Arlington, Va., on "How To Do Business with DSS-W." See the conference Web site for information.
