 Secretary of Defense Leon E. Panetta is traveling. 

Deputy Secretary of Defense Ashton B. Carter has no public or media events on his schedule. 

Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Martin E. Dempsey will deliver remarks at the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) 2012 Honor Guard Gala at 7:30 p.m. EDT at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium, Washington, D.C. 

Robert M. Gates, the 22nd Secretary of Defense, will be presented the Admiral Arleigh Burke Leadership Award at 8 p.m. EDT at the Sea-Air-Space exposition banquet at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center, National Harbor, Md. 

Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Jonathan Greenert will speak at noon EDT and other Navy leaders will speak at the Sea-Air-Space exposition throughout the day.  The event is being held at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center, National Harbor, Md. 

Assistant Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering Zach Lemnios Threats and Capabilities, at the DoD Science and Technology and Labs Hearing at 2:30 p.m. EDT at the Senate Office Building Room SR-222. 

ASD Madelyn Creedon, OSD/P-GSA; Gen. Robert Kehler, USSTRATCOM Commander; Maj. Gen William Chambers, AF/A10; Rear Adm. Terry Benedict, Dir. Strategic Systems Programs will testify at the House Armed Service Committee for Strategic Force about atomic energy defense activities and nuclear forces programs at 3 p.m. EDT at the Rayburn House Office Building 2212. 

The Navy will conduct a briefing on Pacific Partnership 2012 at 11 a.m. EDT in the Pentagon Briefing Room (2E973).  Pacific Partnership is the largest annual humanitarian and civic action mission in the Asia-Pacific region.  Journalists without a Pentagon building pass will be picked up at the Pentagon River Parking Entrance only.  Plan to arrive no later than 30 minutes prior to the event; have proof of affiliation and two forms of photo identification.  Please call 703-697-5131 for escort.
