The Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, Subcommittee on European Affairs will conduct an OPEN hearing on issues surrounding the 50th anniversary summit of NATO, including the new Strategic Concept, future enlargement and NATO-Russia relations. Witnesses tentatively include Frank Kramer, Assistant Secretary of Defense for international Security Affairs; and Mr. Grossman, State Department.

The Senate Committee on Armed Services, Subcommittee on Emerging Threats and Capabilities will conduct an OPEN hearing on science and technology budgets and issues. Witnesses include: Panel 1 -- Dr. Jacques Gansler, Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Technology; Dr. Dolores Etter, Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Science and Technology. Panel 2 -- Dr. Frank Fernandez, Director, DARPA; and Service science and technology representatives from the Army, Air Force and Navy.
