Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld and Air Force Gen. Richard B. Myers, chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff, conduct a DoD news briefing at 2 p.m. EDT in the DoD Briefing Room, Pentagon 2E781. Media without a Pentagon building pass interested in covering this event must have proof of press affiliation and two forms of photo identification and should be at the North Parking Entrance by 1:30 p.m. Please call (703) 697-5131 for escort into the building.

Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz hosts an honor cordon to welcome Afghanistan's Minister of Finance Ashraf Ghani to the Pentagon at 11:15 a.m. EDT. The cordon will be held on the steps of the Pentagon River Entrance. Media must be at the River Entrance no later than 10:45 a.m. EDT for the cordon.

The Pentagon will start its Earth Day celebration today with exhibits in its Center Courtyard and inside on the Concourse. This year's event, which is being hosted by acting Navy Secretary H. T. Johnson, offers an opportunity to view the latest in fuel cell vehicles and technologies from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. EDT through Wednesday, April 23.
