Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld and Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz are in Washington. There are no public or media events on their schedules.

Senior representatives of the U.S., Norway and Russia are meeting today in Norfolk, Va., to discuss Arctic military environmental cooperation. See the press advisory for details.

The NATO exercise Adventure Express/Dynamic Response 2001 begins today and continues through May 10 in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kosovo and Albania. See the NATO news release for details.

The International Azalea Festival: A Salute to NATO continues through April 29 in Norfolk, Va. See the festival web site for details.

The next regular DoD news briefing is scheduled for Tuesday, May 1 at 1:30 p.m. in the DoD briefing studio, Pentagon room 2E781. The briefer will be Rear Adm. Craig R. Quigley, deputy assistant secretary of Defense for public affairs.
