EVENTS FOR MAY 17, 2000

The Secretary of Defense is in Washington today. Secretary Cohen hosts a visit today by the Minister of Defense of Argentina, including a full honors arrival ceremony and a media availability. See the press advisory for more details.
The Deputy Secretary of Defense is in Washington today. There are no public or media events on his schedule.

Today at 10 a.m., the Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff will host a stamp cancellation ceremony and cut a ribbon officially opening the 50th anniversary of the Armed Forces Day panel display. The events will take place at the 2nd corridor of the Pentagon adjacent to the closed cafeteria. See the press advisory for details.

SecDef hosts full honor arrival ceremony for MoD of Argentina Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen will host a full honors arrival ceremony to welcome Minister of Defense Ricardo Lopez Murphy, of Argentina, to the Pentagon at 10 a.m. EDT, Wednesday, May 17, 2000.
