Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates and Deputy Secretary of Defense Gordon England have no public or media events on their schedules.

Marine Col. Richard Simcock, commander of Regimental Combat Team 6, will brief live from Camp Fallujah, Iraq at 9 a.m. EDT, May 18, in the DoD Briefing Room, Pentagon 2E579, to provide an update on ongoing security operations in western Iraq.  Journalists without a Pentagon building pass will be picked up at the North Parking Entrance only.  Plan to arrive no later than 45 minutes prior to the event; have proof of affiliation and two forms of photo identification.  Please call (703) 697-5131 for escort into the building.
The Pentagon Force Protection Agency will dedicate their Roll Call Room to Officer James M. Feltis III in a ceremony at 9 a.m. on May 18, 2007 in Room 6 of the Pentagon Conference Center.  See press advisory for details.
