Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates and Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff Adm. Mike Mullen testify at a hearing of the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee on the new START Treaty at 10 a.m. EDT in room 106, Dirksen Senate Office Building.

Deputy Secretary of Defense William J. Lynn has no public or media events on his schedule.

The Department of Defense and the Army will host a demonstration and static display of the Persistent Ground Surveillance System (PGSS) on May 18 at Ft. Belvoir, Virginia. The PGSS display will be held on Fremont Field at Ft. Belvoir.  See press advisory for details.
